HitFilm Standard Video Software is an application that allows you to edit your videos / movies and create various special effects. It analyzes the videos and helps you guide which project settings to use. All your videos, images, and audio clips are arranged in a convenient way by the Project Media list.
With multi-track editing, up to 10 video and 10 audio tracks can be edited from short films, video blogs, and holiday videos (with a few added explosions). Visual effects can be added to your movies just by dragging the effects onto the timeline, without even leaving the HitFilm Standard or loading another application. Editing can be further enhanced with variety of high quality video and audio transitions such as fades, dissolves, and animated wipes.
Over 40 2D effects for blurring, warping, color correcting, and stylizing are available, and can be combined with each other to produce entirely different results. 3D effects for smoke, fire, explosion, and shockwave are available, and enhance the naturalness and viewing experience of your movies. 3D Gunfire technology creates an infinite variety of fully 3D muzzle flashes to suit any weapon, which will help you intensify the shootouts in the action movies. Varieties of effect presets are available, which can be created and saved for later use.
Using 2D composting, multiple layers are combined together and over 50 built-in effects can be put to use. You can composite green screen besides mixing video and images together to create brand new shots. 3D composting allows you to create unique visuals by moving the video layers in and around HitFilm's 3D effects. Green screen backgrounds can be removed and replaced by some virtual set or exotic location. Multiple virtual cameras enable you to shoot 3D shots while the 3D lighting creates entirely virtual scenes or matches the lighting from a live action shot by mixing different lights together. While working on 3D, you can use the automatic shadow casting, which interact naturally with layers, 3D effects, and lights giving you a more realistic feel. The optional depth of field automatically blurs layers based on the relative distance from the lens.
You can turn on the automatic motion blur for experiencing more realistic movement of the 2D and 3D layers. The masking tools (2D masks) helps you create interaction between layers, polish the edges of green screen shots, and deleting unwanted parts of an image or video. Text can be created and animated in 2D/3D using the fonts on your computer.
An extensive range of color filters and effects are provided for presenting your movies in a better way. The 'film look' presets will give your movies a professional appearance whether you are aiming to make a Hollywood blockbuster or a documentary. Along with the multiple export formats, you have full control over the exported videos. YouTube videos are automatically converted to HD format before they are uploaded to your channel. You can promote your movie through the HitFilm website and YouTube channel by adding your movie to the HitFilm global playlist.
Using GPU acceleration, the Standard Software provides a high speed performance even while you are working in full 3D with complex effects. Most common video, image and audio formats like WMV, MP4, AVI, MOV, and MXF are compatible. The Software also allows you to undo or redo your work.
