The Rode blimp is probably one of the most accessible and affordable blimps/zeppelins for low budget filmmakers while still maintaining a level of quality. The price is much more affordable than options from Rycote or Radius, and they're also very attainable cheaply on the used market. But as an inexpensive blimp, the Rode weighs more than other higher priced options. Weight of the microphone setup is very important especially when you're holding a boom all day out in the wind. One way to reduce weight on the Rode is to remove the pistol grip. This adapter allows you to do that, while still maintaining the easily adjustable lever for changing the angle. At $20, it was a no brainer. If you also use a lightweight microphone like the Deity S-Mic3, you'll have a microphone setup that will not kill your arms near as much. I would ESPECIALLY recommend this if you have the older version of the Rode Blimp with the solid handle. The newer version reduced weight mostly by redesigning the handle to be the hollow design. I was able to get my Rode Blimp (newer version) used from a user on FB Marketplace for about $50. No matter how you acquire your blimp, and what it cost you, this $20 attachment is definitely worth it. It also provides you with spare parts (like the lever, tightening nut, and slide-tightening screw), since these are the parts most likely to break. If your handle has broken, I'd recommend buying this adapter instead of finding a new blimp.
