Add a level of control and professionalism to your photographic endeavors with a 60 x 72", Indigo Nights Collapsible Stand Kit from Savage. When confronted with a busy or unsightly photo location, it's great to have the option of shooting with your own background. The collapsible background has a steel spring sewn into the perimeter that holds the fabric tight when open, and collapses to 1/3 the full size when folded. For versatility, the background is reversible, and offers the photographer two backdrop choices. Easy to setup, the background has touch-fasteners for hanging vertically or horizontally, and is easily clipped to the included 8' stand, too. When not in use, the background may be stored in the included carry bag.

    Savage CB106-KIT Reviews

Collapsible Stand Kit (60 x 72-, Indigo Nights) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 112.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for headshots! Easy to use. Great for headshots and with the right depth of field you can do complete upper body shots. It's lightweight l and I love the fact it's reversible. I originally was going to use the lighter gray side. But after setting up 2 point lighting I realized the darker side helped my subjects pop out more. The only thing I recommend is either you make sure your subject and backdrop have enough separation to where the backdrop is blurred out. Or before traveling with it you steam it and make sure any hard set wrinkles are gone. Other than that I would definitely buy another of these backdrops.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great once we toyed with it a bit The color of this background is very soft and is quite flattering for a variety of skin tones. It's very easy to set up, and the stand is steady so you don't have to worry about it falling over if people bump it a bit. We did have a bit of trouble getting it to collapse the first time. It did not want to bend into thirds in order to fit nicely in the case. After a bit of force, we did manage to get it secured, and since we got it put away the first time we haven't had any more trouble. It still holds its shape nicely when expanded to the full size, so the frame was strong enough to handle a little force without breaking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great kit for office portraits I bought this kit to shoot office headshots and portraits where a muslin backdrop and frame are too bulky or time-consuming to set up, and I'm very happy with it so far. The background is nicely finished and has good neutral tone on both grays (although the lighter gray is slightly darker than pictured, as others have pointed out). The stand is very basic, but light weight, and the inclusion of the spring-loaded top clamp makes it very simple to use in either vertical or horizontal positions. Compared to other generic collapsible backgrounds I've used (e.g. Impact) the fit/finish is high, and worth the little price premium. Recommended.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Color is Not as pictured! This item is advertised as a fairly dark watercolor blue on one side and a mauve/light blue watercolor on the other side. It arrived and was black on one side and an extremely dark blue, almost black on the other side. There was no watercolor effect as shown, either. I called the sales department and they looked at several on the sales floor and they were all the same. I was not able to exchange it. They said they have had several returns. This is not the item that they ordered from the manufacturer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great road studio kit, w/ fast setup for the $$$ I bought this kit for head shots at a seminar about developing your image on the digital platform. I had the corner of the cocktail lounge in the hotel banquet room to set up and draw clients in as they mingled. I used a pair of 650w hot lights and 33 umbrellas, A Canon 70D with a 70-200mm 2.8 IS II lens.I was a little surprised at it's size at first, I mean sure, the dimentions are clearly stated. This is definitely large enough to cram 2-3 people in for medium shot in the portrait position. 5-6 people or more for medium close up shot in landscape. There are two sides to this background. One is light the other is dark. It's made of a very thick Nylon stocking like material... I wouldn't go running up to it with sissors pointed in it's direction but normal use shouldn't cause it to run. I read reviews about the setup being confusing. There is a plastic squeeze clamp that screws on to the top of the durable (mildly to sort of heavy) 8' aluminum light stand. Some reviewers expressed the fear of losing this clamp, taking it off after use. However, I found it easy to just leave it on the light stand and put it in my road case where I feel it will be safe. If it is going to be rolling around in your trunk, then I suggest gaff taping it to the side of the light stand or something during travel. Be smart and Sandbag this thing. It was secure enough to stand on it's own indoors, but if someone knocked into it it could go over and you'd have an angry client. There were a few slight crease marks along the edge of the background especially in the corners, but were not noticable in any of my prints. There are two velcro straps on either side of the long edge of the background, and one on each narrow. These aid in securing the background in addition to the clamp. The image attached to my review represents the lighter side of the background. It's semi-see through at first, and before studio lighting, it appeared to be darker all around on both sides. When lit, more white popped out, and lighter grey's showed through.Collapsing the background is going to be tricky for short people. I am 5'10 and was able to collapse it with some effort getting my arms wide enough to reach around the edges to fold it in on itself. A pictorial instruction pamflet was included in the box for breaking it down. the trick is to push it toward the ground. In all I'm very pleased with this kit. There are many color options available and If I begin to do more studio like portrait work in the future, I may buy more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Kit This is a good kit for quick set up. The fabric is kind of a light material and you can see some light coming in from the background so just be careful where you set this up. The stand is good but the clamp that comes with it has to be taken off for storage so be real careful so as not to misplace it. I took a self portrait just messing around with my lighting and used this background.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Headshots I use this product for headshots and it works great. The size is perfect for that application and folding it up is pretty simple considering the size. It is a great choice for a portable background. The stand is a little on the light-weight side considering the opened size and weight of the background but it works. I recommend a sandbag for stability. I also like that the stand can double as a speedlite stand when not holding the background.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well Made, But Has Minor Flaws Recently got this for taking staff headshots for my company. I like the two color options, and you can control how light or how dark it looks depending on the amount of light you use. It feels high quality and is well-built for a collapsible backdrop. The stand is very light, but not too bad. If you want to use it outside for any reason, you should get sandbags or a bigger stand, but if you are using it occasionally indoors it's nice to have included. The backdrop is a little tricky to fold and it doesn't have any instructions, so fold the long side like a taco and let it do the rest. It does take a few tries to get it right. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because there are some wrinkles on the dark side and there seems to be a pattern on the light side that shows up on camera. I might try steaming out the wrinkles, but the pattern worries me. (See images) I have only run some tests with it so far and might update once I have a chance to use it more.

how does this backdrop attach to this stand?
    Asked by: Rachel B.
There is a clip on the stand that holds the backdrop, and the bottom of the backdrop has velcro straps that will secure it in a vertical position. The clip has a squeeze-open structure, kinda like the plunger on a hypodermic syringe. You press it open, slip the metal fram of the backdrop into the clip, and then release the clip. Spring pressure holds the backdrop frame securely.

Can this be steamed to get the wrinkles out?
    Asked by: Alisha C.
there may be a small crease in some areas but they are so small that your depth of field will make them less obvious. Care instructions are for hand wash only, no dry cleaning. If steaming, I would test an area first.
