    Sony AC-VQ1051D reviews

AC Adapter and Twin Charger For L-Series Batteries is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 58.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Charger; doesn't charge 2 at once Charges my sony and non-sony batteries fine. I like the normal charge/full charge selection. It looks like it'll charge two batteries at one time, but it doesn't. It will only charge the 2nd battery once the first is finished. Not a huge problem, just not what one would expect. Nice for overnight charging though. No need to hover over the charger to switch batteries. Also the charger tests the batteries for charge level and charging time remaining. This feature only seems to work on Sony batteries though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OEM for us We own three of these; two in the studio and one in our production truck. Generally, we stick with OEM so if something unexpectedly fails, there is only one go-to place for resolution. We regularly shoot long meetings, conferences, etc and use one of these as a battery eliminator for the camera. This particular purchase was a replacement for the truck unit that failed after two years. The unit was rained on and knocked around and generally used and abused by being out in the field. We're surprised it lasted as long as it did. Our only nit is the unit should charge two batteries at a time, not just one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Make sure it works with your batteries I bought this as I thought it would be a faster way to charge the Sony L-Series compatible batteries that come standard with some of the Digital Juice equipment (lights, monitors). However: - It does not charge two batteries at once; it does one first, then the second one - Unless they are OEM InfoLithium batteries, it doesn't give you any readout about time remaining to charge or how much charge the batteries hold. You'll just get the LED indicator when the battery is full. - It takes between 24-36 hours to fully charge an empty NP-F960 6000mah type battery. None of that is really a fault of the charger, though. If you're using OEM Sony batteries it might be more useful. (Still can't charge more than one at a time, though.) If (like me) you were looking for a quicker way to charge multiple Sony-compatible batteries, you're no better off than just using the cheap chargers that came with the equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Better Charger for you Camera I purchased this AC adapter and twin charger for my studio so that I could always keep my batteries charged and ready to go. What I really like about it is the LCD display. The LCD display shows the estimated time to charge for each battery as well as displaying the estimated battery life. Now we all know that battery life is dependent on many variables but this estimate can give you an approximate value. So, if you are doing a video shoot that will only be 30 minutes and the display says there is about 2h-30m of life, then you should be good-to-go with a extra to spare.Likewise, this is a well built device that will also recharge USB devices i.e. cell phone, digital recorders, iPad, etc.I'm very happy with the unit and look forward to getting years of use out of it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not quite was I was expecting Seems like a well made unit and the electronics seem well designed, but It doens't do quite what I as hoping. It will only charge 2 batteries simultaniously in full charge mode as opposed to normal and it only charges simultaniously after the first battery you instered reaches normal charge also the charge time is really long on my non sony batteries. with the 570 2600 mAh batteries is took all day (8 hours) to do both batteries from 20% charge. The good news is a slow charge means the batteries last longer, and I have no doubt it would be quicker with infolithium batteries as I was WAY off the chrage times it suggested I might get in the manual. Just be advised that this will not chrage 2 batteries simultaniously as you think it might at first glance and Im sure it will serve you well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Charger! I trust only Sony OEM with my Sony Li-ion batteries. The charger is intuitive and the display informative. It is a quality charger with useful accessories (attachment cables). The only reason I give it 4-stars instead of 5 is due to the charger only operating in series rather than parallel (simultaneous charging of both bays).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A valuable accessory It's probably the best charger available, and when used with the info-lithium batteries you get useful info on the charging status of the battery. The AC adapter capability is a major plus if you do any extended work where you can have convenient access to AC power. When thinking about the number of charge cycles expected and the option of an AC adapter to to power your camcorder or light or other battery driven accessory, the cost is not a factor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect addition to new camera I recently purchased a new Sony videocamera that did not come with a battery charger. Most new Sony cameras no longer come with a charger. I have an older charger but this one is much finer build and has a digital readout for status on both batteries at once. For the price, I highly recommend this product versus charging the battery in the camera. Plus, you now have an excellent and robust AC adapter when you need it.
