General Electric SymSafe Pro Overview

The General Electric SymSafe Pro Hybrid DVR (16 Analog/2 Digital Channels, 1.5 TB HDD) offers real-time MPEG-4 video recording and playback capabilities as well as monitoring functions. It supports up to 480 fps at 2-CIF and up to 240 fps at D1 resolution. You can use the SymSafe Pro recorder as a standalone unit or as a part of a network. Along with log data export, motion search, and protect on alarm features, the hybrid DVR also offers up to 10 user profiles and 30 macros.

Using the security software, you can view live and recorded video from multiple SymSafe Pro units. In addition, the digital video recorder features 2 IP streams and 2 audio inputs. Included 1.5 TB hard drive can be used to store substantial video content. With a Cooling Tunnel design, the hard drive unit can be kept under cool environment by moving out hot air. Also integrated into the SymSafe DVR is a CD/DVD-RW burner and PTZ control.

Featured Motion detection mode triggers an alarm when motion is detected in a designated portion of the video display. The SymSafe Pro DVR also features continuous mode, alarm, and scheduled recording modes. In addition, the Network Bandwidth Throttling feature regulates network traffic and reduces bandwidth congestion.

With 3 USB 2.0 ports, the digital recorder allows data transfer to USB flash drives. In addition, the SymSafe Pro recorder also features a VGA and composite video output. A light bar alarm indicator detects and alerts the user of unauthorized access.

Installed on the SymSafe DVR, the SymBrowser thin-client software provides search, playback, and configuration of live video/audio. An OSD (on-screen display) allows easy access to settings such as cameras, schedule, alarms, users, network, display, and system.

The SymSafe Pro recorder comes with a 120 to 240 VAC (internal auto ranging) power supply. It can be used for applications such as schools, retail, branch banking, and commercial installations.
