Canon 3536B002AA reviews

VIXIA HF200 Flash Memory High Definition Camcorder is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 160.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome camera especially for a Mac I use the camera to shoot my children's sports, parties, etc. and it is really incredible. We purchased it in time to take to Hawaii and I am glad we did because the images are so vivid it captures with such clarity, I am very impressed. The photo mode does such a great job I have started to use it for still photos as well because it is superior to my existing Canon. The dual mode capture is really useful and I love the 3 second capture because for kid's sports you never know when something will happen and when it does I have it. The camcorder works very well with my Mac, just plug it in and press a button and it's ready to upload....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very solid camcorder I use this camera to record video in a field environment when my larger cameras would be too bulky. I've been extremely impressed by the quality of video under decent lighting circumstances. Low light situations are difficult, but if you try different settings you can usually find something decent as long as your not expecting professional results. I like the options available, particularly the three second pre-record because as a journalist sometimes I just don't see the moment coming in time and that three seconds makes a big difference. I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants good quality but knows what to expect from a camera of this price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from barely as advertised The quality of the HF200 is very good, however, if you are expecting a 24p quality from this camera, it does not deliver. Canon delivers a 29.97 version of 24p, I'm not sure how they justify calling it Cinema mode 24p, but it is not. Every software I have used imports the cinema mode footage as 29.97. Not what you were expecting? Me either. Seems to be no explanation in any Canon media review, just the same tired corporate camera non-commitment stuff. It is not 24p in any mode, do not believe the hype. However, for $ a hd 1080i camera with manual focus... Not bad, just don't get fooled by the PR.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very simple, nice quality I'm a fairly basic user of the camera. For me it offers a great picture quality combined with a very easy to use interface. The one thing I can recommend to people who buy the camera is to buy an extra battery. The included battery will hold for about one hour, which means that if you are outdoor or shooting along event this might not be enough. Also, recharging the batteries inside the camera is not too much of a hassle, but it is not the most convenient way. I recommend buying an external charger. For the same reason another accessory I recommend is getting an external SD card reader, which will simplify the moving of clips from the camera to the PC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Performance in s small package I've used the Canon HF200 as a substitute camera to shoot sports commentary from my home office. This was done to give the broadcasts a slightly more Vlog and personal touch. I truly had to dumb down the camera and editing as the image and controls were so good. Using this camera with flash cards isn't new for us as we use the P2 Panasonic's in studio, but to use it in a camcorder that weighs less than a pound and gives the shooter this much control is astonishing to me. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone who want's to have ease of use and manual control as well as the fit and finish of the product. We are now rethinking the purchase of the high-end studio camera's to use for our broadcast's as the new generation of video camera's has brought the quality up and the cost down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Underwater color with Canon Housin I purchased this video specifically because Canon makes a compact underwater housing for it. The housing instructions tell you how to set the camera for underwater, and although the instructions were a bit vague, and Canon support was not helpful, it is a one time adjustment. I just got back from first dive trip with it and the underwater colors were about as natural as watching Planet Earth. It did well on large animals, like dolphins, and equally well on all but the tiny macro stuff. The bright screen setting enabled me to see the LCD panel easily underwater. I used the camera with a Lite Cannon 100 underwater light and a diffuser for overhangs and darker days. Overall, I have never been this happy with an underwater camera.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good first camera I bought this camera on sale, and it's my first digital video camera. I was surprised that it came with no flash memory installed at all, meaning that I couldn't use it out of the box, but I quickly remedied that problem. I have been able to use it to take some short clips and have easily uploaded and edited on my Mac using iMovie. In terms of capturing basic footage without knowing a lot about digital video, it's great. The more complicated controls, and even some basic things that I'd expect to be able to do: overriding the flash, for instance, are a little bit harder to navigate on the menus, but it's a good camera overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this camera I use this camera to record interviews with people. I then consolidate the interviews with other content into a longer running presentation that I use to market a couple of live shows I produce every year. I'm a novice so the features that I like the most are the pre-recording, the quick start, facial recognition, and the editing capabilities. I also like having the option to record in high def and to switch to lower quality for longer video without having to offload data. This camera has all the features that I could possibly need in a very lightweight compact unit that I can take anywhere.
