The General Electric S711D 2-Way Multiprotocol Data Transceiver (Standalone, ST Type) supports 2-way transmission of multiprotocol data over 2 multimode fibers. It has an operating distance of 15 miles (25 km), and features Optical Automatic Gain Control (OAGC) that helps compensate for loss in signal strength. The S711D supports multiprotocol data formats including RS-232, TTL, RS-422, RS-485, Manchester, Biphase and SensorNet.
Data translation function allows data to be easily converted from one format to another. You can select data formats during installation and then easily change them later in the field via a rotary switch. SMARTS diagnostic technology features LEDs that enable you to determine the operating status of video and optical signals at a glance. In addition, it comes with a built-in test generator that allows data paths to be tested.
The S711D receiver features a standalone configuration and a polycarbonate construction, and offers solid-state short circuit protection.
