You need to change out the rosette screw with a longer one, Manfrotto part no. R1094142.

According to Manfrotto this controller is compatible with the JVC LS300. You will just need to have a lens which offers Power Zoom for the zoom function to work, such as the Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens, BH #PA144235XS.
