Photogenic C4-15C Flashtube

The standard, clear, UV Coated flashtube for the Photogenic PL2 Series monolights.

Most current, professional flash heads and monolights are equipped with user replaceable flashtubes that may simply be plugged into, and unplugged from their sockets. With proper handling, these flashtubes may last for tens of thousands of flashes under normal use.

This flashtube is UV-Coated, or UV-Corrected. UV flashtubes have a yellow appearance, and they counteract the excess blue 5700° or higher output of non-UV coated flashtubes. UV Coating lowers the color temperature to 5500°, which is the color of noon daylight on a clear day.

question

How do i maintain the capacitor in a power light?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Photogengic PowerLight PL1250 Monolight comes in 120VAC or 220VAC. 120VAC is USA.The Capacitors are inside off the PL1250, just like capacitor is inside of most speedlites/speedlights, as soon as you turn On the Switch- the Capacitors should be charged. Then you set your power manually by either up or down. Pressing higher power (brighter light) will charge the Pl-1250 more, up to 500ws (500watts second). The Center Bulb is called the Modeling Light and you can turn that On/Off & adjust the brightness of it. Once the Capacitors are fully charged (much faster than speedlites & very powerful), then you are ready to enjoy beautiful lighting. There are five ways that you can discharge the Capacitors:1. Press the Test Button.2. Shoot using your hoshoe flash (must turn off the pre-flash) to trigger wireless IR to PL1250.3. Attaches a 1/4 Phone Plug to PC Sync Cable from PL1250 to camera's Hotshoe.4. Attaches ATG/Pocket Wizard/wireless radio trigger (receiver or transceiver) into the 1/4 Socket of PL1250. You will need a short ATG/Pocket Wizard/radio trigger of 1/4 PC Sync Cable. B&H Photo sells it. Then mount ATG transmitter/transceiver onto the camera hotshoe. Set camera to M on the dial. Set Shutter Speed to up to Flash Sync Speed (1/250, 1/200, 1/125 or lower). Use a Light Meter or Camera LCD's Histogram to check PL1250's light hitting to your subject. And adjust power to your flavors.5. Turning Off the switch. When done for the day or storage, always set PL1250 power to minimum.During cold weathers or cold studio, do not turn on and have it set at Mid or Full Power.Wait for the PL1250 to warm up then enjoy making beautiful arts.If PL1250 is not used much, like beyond 4+ months, just flash the power from low to high and high to low. This will maintain those Capacitors for many years of lighting.
