The Photogenic 1,500W/s PowerLight 4 Light Studio Kit (120V) is a great way to achieve studio-quality lighting in-house or on location. The kit is built around the powerful, dependable PowerLight. Four heads are provided: two 500W/s heads and two 250W/s PowerLights. They're capable of fast recycling (1.5 and 1.25 sec. respectively) at full power as well as fast flash duration which is ideal for capturing every fleeting gesture with subjects in motion like athletes or dancers. Of course they're great for product work or portraiture as well and Photogenic has you covered on both counts.
Included in the kit are 2 softboxes; 24 x 32" and 12 x 36". The first is an ideal source for head and shoulders portraits and the 12 x 36" box is an excellent sidelight or product light which yields long elegant highlights on reflective objects. There's also a 45" umbrella to use as a fill light for 3-point lighting. The standard, clear, UV Coated flashtube for the Photogenic PL2 Series monolights.
Most current, professional flash heads and monolights are equipped with user replaceable flashtubes that may simply be plugged into, and unplugged from their sockets. With proper handling, these flashtubes may last for tens of thousands of flashes under normal use.
This flashtube is UV-Coated, or UV-Corrected. UV flashtubes have a yellow appearance, and they counteract the excess blue 5700° or higher output of non-UV coated flashtubes. UV Coating lowers the color temperature to 5500°, which is the color of noon daylight on a clear day.
