The Porta Brace Carrying Case for Glidecam HD2000/HD-PRO with Camera fits the HD2000 or HD-PRO Glidecam gimbal along with a camera and counterweights. The camera is protected during transport in a camera cradle. The case is made of 1000-denier Cordura material and comes with foam stabilizer blocks and a padded interior divider kit. It also has two large exterior pockets and features a heavy-duty suede shoulder strap.

Lots of room for gear, batts, small camera and what have you . . .nice hard core materials that porta brace is known for. Good stout zippers.

Keeps you Glidecam calibrated!

I was never a Porta Brace fan, I was biased by the blue color they used. This case come in black and is made for my Glidecam HD2000 I just bought. When I opened the box i knew this was a step up in quality from even the great names bags I own. It is plenty big for the Glidecam even at at full extension. The dividers and tie downs are all customizable and keep the stabilizer very secure, which is very important when it takes so long to calibrate your stabilizer in the first place. If I had a stabilizer vest there would be plenty of room for that too. There are full length pockets on each side, one thinner zipper, and one wider velcro flap one. The bag completely splits open with the top zipper, but has a great 4 lip at the ends of the zipper to no allow things to spill out of the bag, brilliant. The handles are awesome in your hand, padded and great feeling leather; and there are three of them - on the top and on each of the ends. The shoulder strap is even thicker and goes diagonal across the bag which makes it drap along your body for easier caring. Nothing on feels cheap or does anything seem like a weak point to be careful about. The whole bag feels like it will last forever. One thing I wish was included as a picture of a recommended set up for the inserts in the case. I can't figure out how I'd use some of the inserts.

Will this also fit a Glidecam HD4000?

Yes, this bag will take the HD4000 as well as the HD2000.

A collapsed Glidecam HD1000 is 10 , extended it is 13 . With a camera, maybe 18 . The Porta Brace Carrying Case for Camera and Glidecam HD2000 is 29.5 , plenty of room to take the HD1000.

Will this work for a steadicam solo?

It's ginormous. I wouldn't recommend it for only a steadicam. It is more suited for all your equipment, including a steadicam.

What exactly are the foam block stabilizers and how many dividers does this come with other than the long middle divider? I'm thinking of getting this for my glidecam/ sony a7s but it seems way too big for even my sony a7s cage rig. Is it very customizable in terms of velcro being across the entire inside of the bag? Like can I by more dividers and create small compartments with them in here ?

There are 2 foam block stabilizers and a middle divider that has 3 sections with velcro. They can be rearranged or removed to your liking. It is large enough to hold the Glidecam and some more. Due to the quality and sturdiness of the bag it has become my go-to bag also for other equipment or when I go out on a one-day shooting even without the Glidecam which I rarely use now.
