Plate w/ 19mm Studio Spacing

There are some great things about this battery hanger and some bad things and it all hovers around utility. This is the only hanger readily available that is setup to mount to a Studio Spacing arrangement be it 15mm or 19mm rods. It will also configure into standard 15mm rod configuration which all the other hangers do. Another benefit this hanger provides is security around the fasteners; the competing Zwiss Plate does not. This is easily explained if you imagine setting your camera rig down finding the bottom of the hanger is resting on the ground. With the Zwiss Plate the fasteners are actually hitting the ground and the fittings could back off... loosen. Now the bad. The holes as attractive and functional as they appear, do fall short in some critical areas with the most glaring error being the inability to attach a BEC plate to the side of the hanger. How this got past the Anton Bauer people I do not know. There is a solution to this but you will have to have the Hot Swap Mount available to address that issue. If you don't... be prepared for another rather expensive purchase. If you need or want the studio spacing option you will want this unit. If 15mm standard spacing is your requirement probably the Zwiss Plate is your solution or the horizontal mounting Zacuto Double Mount/Red Plate solution will fit your bill. The latter has the BEC mounting holes and is an excellent solution with a lot of practical mounting options incorporated into the design. I am glad I have this as part of my kit but it is a second hanger to address unique setups. If you are starting out with a 15mm rig setup I would look elsewhere. If you plan to mount big PL mount lenses and want to use a studio spaced bridge plate, you will want this unit with the other required bits.
