The Convergent Design Gemini 4:4:4/4:2:2 Uncompressed Video Recorder is designed to record uncompressed 4:4:4 video to up to 2 removable 1.8" Solid State Drives (SSDs) simultaneously. You can create instant backups and record videos for longer durations using the parallel and spanning modes. In addition, the Gemini video recorder is an ideal companion to compact cameras with 4:4:4 SDI output.
You can simultaneously record S-Log video to one SSD (for online editing) and the same footage with other burned-in LUTs to the second SSD (for easier and faster creation of offline proxies). In addition, the recorder allows you to record footage to both SSDs (for instant backup) useful for high-quality digital cinema production.
Offering support for S-Log gamma function, the Gemini recorder is an ideal tool for digital cinematography. When applied to a video footage, the S-Log look-up table (LUT) provides additional stops of latitude for a wide dynamic range, setting up recorded DPX files for any digital intermediate (DI) post-production workflow.
In addition to supporting 4:4:4 recording of 2K at 24p as well as 1080p30 and 1080p24, the Gemini 4:4:4 allows recording of high-frame-rate 1080p60/50, enabling overcranked (slow-motion) capture. Featuring an SSD-to-eSATA transfer station, the Gemini recorder allows you to easily drag files to your Mac or PC, and start editing either uncompressed files or with any editing codec in most NLE applications (support for Final Cut Pro, Avid, Edius, and Vegas).
