Is this product compatible with the Shure shotgun SM89?
Yes. This windscreen is recommended for use with the VP89L which has a length identical to the SM89 (386 mm or 15.21 in.). It features a standard sized hole that accommodates shotgun mics 19-22 mm in diameter (0.74-0.87 in.). The VP89L is 21 mm (0.815 in.) in diameter versus the SM89 which was 386 mm (15.21 in.), so it will fit the SM89, although a tiny bit more snugly than the current VP89L model.
