This is the black A89MC Carrying Case for the VP89L Shotgun Microphone from Shure. It is designed to nest your microphone in a safe casing that will protect it from incidental contact as well as airborne contaminants. It is carried by a handy webbed strap. The end cap contains a hook/loop fastener for security.

Works great! Good quality. If you have an ME66 with the Shure foam windscreen, it fits perfectly and doesn't move around.
I purchased this to use with our Sennheiser ME66 shotgun mics with the K6 battery module attached. It fits perfectly and I'll soon be ordering more to protect all of our mics. With the foam windscreen attached the mic fits well and is well protected in this hard pvc tube style case. They are expensive, but I'm in the business of loaning equipment to students and these cases are a worthy investment. There isn't a rigid bottom to the tube, which I expected, but the thick canvas-like material on the bottom seems very durable.
