Shure VP89L Overview

Designed as a modular system that supports interchangeable capsules to accommodate a range of indoor and outdoor recording scenarios, the Shure VP89L long shotgun microphone delivers an extremely narrow 30° acceptance angle for highly directional sound pickup.

Lightweight and rugged, the VP89L provides reliable operation and low susceptibility to hum, GSM, and radio-frequency interference. The phantom-powered preamp features a switchable low-cut filter to attenuate problematic bass frequencies such as rumble and a standard XLR 3-pin output for straightforward connectivity.

Outfitted with a Class-A, discrete, transformerless preamplifier, the VP89L delivers a clean and quick transient response with minimal harmonic/intermodulation distortion and no crossover distortion. Short and medium-sized capsule barrels are available separately to suit various recording needs, rejection angles, and frequency responses.

After using a few cheaper (and shorter) shotgun mics, this one is astounding. Brilliant quality in the studio and in the field. Couldn't ask for a better shotgun mic.
