HPRC HPRC0500 Overview

The HPRC Support Plate for Laptop/Tripod can be used for a host of applications and usage in areas such as photography, industrial, military, nautical, police and many others. It's made from a combination of ABS and stainless steel. Thanks to its adjustability, the plate will support most laptops and fit on all standard tripods.

Designed to mount on top of a standard tripod that uses a 3/8" tripod screw, it folds out flat and creates a  platform. The adjustable wings help hold items securely. Additionally, it folds quickly and easily for rapid set up and storage making it a reliable support for your laptop, projector or HPRC cases from HPRC2400 TO HPRC2550W.

Just bought my 3rd-all working

This is my 3rd HPRC05000, and all 3 are going strong. As a VJ, I’m often not given space for a real table at a proper height where I can see the screens or sculptures upon which I’m projecting. Consequently, these little trays are lifesavers. The plates screw onto 5/8” tripod mounts, and the 6 locking tabs flip up, slide out, and stay in place. I’ve never had any issues with them coming loose. They are very sturdy - I’ve used them for my 10lbs laptop, with 2x4s underneath to allow for more airflow. I’ve used them for midi controllers and keyboards (where I have fit several on a single unit). I’ve even used one with the large NI S4Mk3 dj controller - the motorized jog wheels caused very little vibration or movement. The plastic is sturdy, and none of the parts have begun to show wear (bought my first in 2016). I would give it 5 stars but: - The main mounting screw lacks any kind of locking mechanism to prevent rotation during heavy use. If you screw it on tightly it is quite secure, but when you compare the 0500 to the features in pro stands this omission stands out. - I wish the side guards went out far enough to fit a full size keyboard and mouse Clearly I use it for more than the advertised purposes, but it excels in so many areas that I have not found a better tripod-based solution. I could fly with 4 of these and the tripods in my checked luggage without size or weight becoming a problem. They are not gorgeous, but they do their job beautifully. Once in a while, I even use them for small projectors!
