Good for the price. I wish hinges were a little more stable

Overall I really like this tripod, especially for the price. Legs are solid, mount with the clip is convenient, and size is good. The one thing is that the hinges when legs pushed all the way out seem to still have a little give. There isn't a hard stop. In practice this hasn't been an issue but it makes me worry about minor movement when using.
Tripod is fine but smartphone mount not big enough

This tripod came bundled with a smart phone mount advertised to accommodate a phone as wide as 3.25 inches but it does not open wide enough for that. My phone in its case is 3.25 inches wide but it is absolutely impossible to put it in this phone mount. Unfortunately, that means a return and keep searching for one that is so portable but will fit my phone case. Bummer.

Can I use my Peak capture quick release instead of the plastic plate? What happens when the plastic release plate breaks? Can something else be used such as the Peak capture or is there a replacement?
The quick release plate that comes with this, is a dedicated piece that is not universal and cannot be replaced with another plate.
