Joby JB01096 overview

  • 1Description

The GorillaPod Micro 250 Tripod with Mini Ball Head - Black/Gray isn't technically microscopic, but you will have trouble seeing it when its legs are folded up and it's concealed underneath the base of your small point & shoot camera. The Micro 250 is designed to be an always-on tripod, which connects to your camera via its standard 1/4"-20 screw. It's just over half an inch thick when folded and it weighs only 0.9 oz, so you'll never have a reason to remove it – it will fit comfortably with your camera inside almost any case.

Fan out its legs, and you suddenly have a stable base of support that will allow you to set your camera down on many objects & surfaces to capture a rock-solid shot – whether a low-light landscape photo or a time-lapse video. The stainless-steel mini ball head of the GorillaPod 250 tilts up to 36° in any direction, so you can level out the frame even if your shooting surface has a significant grade to it. The colorful rubber grips at the ends of the legs lend the Micro 250 sure footing on almost any surface.

Sleek and Portable Design
With a slim profile, the GorillaPod Micro 250 is concealed beneath the camera base when its legs are folded, and it easily fits in any case
Stainless Steel Micro Positioning Ball
The miniature ball head allows for 36° of movement in any direction for precise control over photo or video composition
Coated Zinc-Alloy Legs
The zinc/aluminum-alloy legs feature rubber foot grips, which combine to stabilize point & shoot cameras on even or uneven surfaces without resonant vibrations
Fast Setup & Easy Framing
The Micro 250's auto-fanning leg deployment and its effortless ball head positioning enable instant setup and framing, so you'll never miss a shot

GorillaPod Micro 250 Tripod with Mini Ball Head - Black/Gray is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little gizmo This is a really useful add-on to my camera. I do a lot of hiking and this tripod is so small and light I just slip into a pocket; yet it's sturdy and stable enough to do the job. I can usually find something like a log or a rock to place the tripod on, and then use the tilt and swivel capability provided by the ball-joint to compensate for any uneven surface and lock the camera on the subject. The only issue I have with it is that it is not always that easy to attach to the camera - although it's probably small enough such that you could leave it attached if you wanted to and still pocket the camera. Well worth the few dollars I paid for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Tiny Tripod This tripod is amazing. It is tiny and hides below the camera completely. It does make a bump on the bottom, so you can't set your camera down on its bottom once installed. It is perfect for doing quick shots with your point and shoot camera. You can flip it open, set your camera and take a shot. Some folks have complained about it scratchin the bottom of your camera or coming unscrewed when you close it. I came up with a solution that addresses both of these issues. Get a small rubber washer at your local home improvement store and put it on the tripod before installing it to your camera. This prevents scratches and somewhat helps with the unscrewing problem. I did find that it stays screwed in on some cameras better than others. Also, if you want to tighten the screw, only use a dime. I don't recommend a screwdriver, as the screw metal is sort of soft and easy to damage if your screwdriver slips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Packs Small, Plays Big I've been looking for a small portable tripod to carry with me but everything up until know has been too big and required a bigger camera case than the one that fits just my camera and some memory cards. I was at B&H one Sunday and stumbled on the GorillaPod Micro 250. The thing is small but works like a dream. I've only used it on tabletops and other things level. It does have a ball head on it so that you can adjust your camera. Best of all, it fold up really compact and fits inside the outer pocket of my camera case where I also keep a spare battery and memory card. Probably the only bad thing about this tripod is, until you use it a few times and get used to the fact that you actually bought and own this, you might forget that you even have this with you.
