The extension on one ring allows users to adjust the mounting position of the optic forward or backward to achieve an optimal eye relief. To reduce weight, the saddle is made of aluminum while the strap is crafted from steel to improve strength and durability.

Do you make this in all steel? I’m mounting on a shotgun so recoil will be an issue.
The straps of the Weaver Detachable Med Extension Top Mount Rings (Matte Black, 1"), BH # WEDRTMT1MEM, are fabricated steel with aluminum saddles for light weight and durability. These items are not available in all-steel versions. Recoil should not be an issue if mounted properly.
