If you're referring to the small loop that allows you to hand-tighten the plate to the camera...I wouldn't advise it. The screw is a direct connection to the camera and will most likely loosen as the camera swings on it. If you look at a mount designed for this, like the Peak Design PROdrive, you'll notice that it's got a rubber ring and what looks to be a split washer - minimizing possible twist and unscrewing. I'm sure there are other models that separate the connection point from the screw entirely so that full 360 degree spinning is possible without the screw loosening. The point is, those attachments are designer for leash carrying at the mount. This quick release plate is not. So while it might be possible to attach a strap to it - you'd risk it unscrewing through use and dropping your camera.
