Oben's QRA-R2 Quick Release Assembly with RP-20 Plate is a compact system that can add quick release capability to a tripod head or monopod that doesn't come supplied with a built-in quick release system. It features four bubble levels for fast, accurate camera leveling and a rubber-surfaced camera plate. The plate is released from the base using the 2" double action safety lever. A slot on the plate allows the camera to be adjusted 0.75" to achieve the best balance possible. A centering (video) pin makes it easy to use with camcorders and many digital cameras.

Oben's QRA-R2 Quick Release Assembly with RP-20 Plate is a compact system that can add quick release capability to a tripod head or monopod that doesn't come supplied with a built-in quick release system. It features four bubble levels for fast, accurate camera leveling and a rubber-surfaced camera plate. The plate is released from the base using the 2" double action safety lever. Mounted easily to my tripod and camera. Placing the camera on the tripod multiple times is quick and secure- solid connection.

Idk..use mine on an old Quikset tripod..It is flat on the bottom and fits the tripod assembly screw attachment. I think I have a sunpak tripod somewhere ..those plates on tripods are all different sizes and drive me crazy.

That head has a built-in quick-release clamp that is not removable, so this assembly is not compatible.

Will this plate sit flush and operate on a flat surface? (I want to mount it flush on top of a Sound Devices MixPre-3.)

Yes this should sit quite flush with whatever you are planning to mount it on as long as it is a flat surface.
