Rokinon 7.5mm f/3.5 Fisheye Reviews
Powerful Little Lens
It’s hard to imagine a fisheye lens without chromatic distortion and blurred corners. Sharp as a tack, this is ideal for 360 degree virtual tours (I’m using Olympus OMD E-M1.2). More than that, the color is lovely and almost impervious to flare. There is an amazing lack of CA (it’s there but you’ll have to find it at 300%). Resolution is sharp to the corners. Perfect for large scale printing edge to edge. However, do not apply rectilinear distortion correction in Lightroom or Photoshop- this will stretch pixels and ruin the quality. Instead, use it as designed and you’ll love it! Focus at Infinity for anything 10’ out and you should be fine. Use in manual mode, dial aperture with lens and shutter speed on camera. The Olympus models will show your real time exposure on the LCD and watch your histogram. Comes with nice lens cap and handy string pull lens bag- and did I say the build quality and feel is very premium? Love it.
Well made lens
The lens is very well constructed, and the optical quality seems excellent. There is quite a bit of lens flare but the lens produces a sharp image. The focus and aperture rings are well weighted and smooth. The mount fits perfectly on my PM-2 but is a bit tight on my E-M10. The silver color of the lens does not match the silver of my E-M10 but that's of no consequence. Very happy with this lens.
