Barska AH11410 overview

  • 1Description

The 8x32mm Point 'n View 8 MP Camera Binocular from Barska seamlessly supports a symbiotic relationship between an 8x32 binocular and an 8 megapixel digital camera. View an exciting, awe-inspiring visual in the binocular and save it for posterity with a still shot or video via the integrated camera. Stills and videos can be played back on the flip-up 1.5" LCD color display located on top of the binocular. While the camera itself has no on-board memory, up to 16 gigabytes of images and video can be saved to a user-supplied SD memory card. While the binocular has a normative 8x magnification, the camera has a 1-4x zoom magnification. A CMOS color image sensor optimized at 8 megapixels delivers a maximum image size of 3264 x 2448. With a quick change of a simple button setting, still shots can morph into AVI videos at 640x480 pixels. The time limit of video depends on the capacity of the SD storage card. This camera binocular combination has a USB 1.1 port compatible with a PC to store the data and access the media files.

The 8x32 binocular features a roof prism design with fold-up eyecups allowing comfortable magnified observation for long periods of time without eye-strain whether an eye/sunglass wearer or not. The multicoated lenses enhance the image quality for a more vivid and sharp viewing experience. It has a minimum close focus distance of 16.4 feet or five meters, out until as far as you can see, and can be mounted on a tripod with an optional 1/4"-20 adapter. The Point 'n View is a symbiosis of a roof prism binocular with a digital camera that is equally at home on a nature outing, sporting event, or vacation.

8x32mm Point 'n View 8MP Camera Binocular is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Returned purchase Was excited to use on a sandhill crane view outing this past weekend. Pros: Test shots of the camera were great. Cons: 1) Basic binoculars - hard to focus, fine object almost impossible. 2) The LED screen, necessary for camera operation totally washed out with daylight, could not tell if camera was off or on, and obviously could not see what was to be recorded. 3) Basic instructions not detailed enough; forced to go to their website to get better definitions of icons, their purpose, etc. 4) Binocular range up to 8X and camera range, sharp focus 60 feet and beyond, leaves a lot to be desired. I do not recommend this product, but the concept of binoculars combined with a camera still intrigues me. Sincerely, Jim DeHart

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very poor manual, documentation Difficult to know how to operate this because the manual is incomplete and poorly written (refers to the shutter, but never identifies which button that is!). Neck strap included in package doesn't fit the binoculars. Operates well once one figures out where everything is and how to use all the buttons, but that can take a LONG time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great binoculars Haven't found anything I dislike about this binocular. Camera takes great pictures and video. Would highly recommend these binoculars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad, but not great either... First, the web site offers very little support. It is not possible to download any software other than the viewing app. It does not install a driver on your PC don't believe it is MAC compatible to recognize the Binoc/Camera. Second, the downloadable version of the manual is a 'generic' for ALL binoculars, but not applicable to any of this devices camera features. Its basically useless. I've contacted them about this issue. My bad for misplacing the info included with the item. Will follow-up when I hear back from them. All that aside, the item is fairly easy to use. Just familiarize yourself with the function buttons. You needn't be a rocket scientist. It takes a pretty decent picture and video.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great gift! Bought this for my husband as an anniversary gift. My husband loves it. He is pleased with the quality. He likes how easy it is to use and how great the pictures look. I found the best price with B&H photo and it arrived quickly. The only problem we have seen so far is that is difficult to remove memory card.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Service Great Products I have order many products online in the past, but have never have never experienced such a flawless process as I did with B&H Photo. The website was super easy to navigate, the shipping was free, and I had my binoculars in a couple of days. I will definitely use B&H as my go-to source for photo, video, and electronics in the future. Great service is a valued commodity.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good and Bad This is a nice pair of binoculars, but the miniature LED screen for the camera as so tiny that even with reading glasses I could not make enough out to make sense. That is a very strong recommendation against buying this unit. The owner's manual also instructs the user to snap the photo, after initializing the camera. Unfortunately, it completely neglects to say what button does that. When I called Barska, even the tech people didn't know, and they eventually had to figure it out for me.
