Barska Deep Sea 7x50 Overview

The 7x50 WP Deep Sea Binoculars from Barska are designed specifically for the marine and boating enthusiast. The 7x50 configuration is a popular, easily manageable binocular size that permits a steady image even on rough or rolling water. This optic is outfitted with traditional Porro prisms that produce a rich depth of field, and blue-tinted anti-reflection lens coatings, which help to reduce glare while preserving your ability to accurately see colors. The large objectives push the ability to use them in low-light conditions, which are complemented by the large exit pupils that ensure your entire pupil is covered even when it dilates in the dark.

A rangefinder reticle and electronic compass are built into the housing, so you can get your bearings and estimate object size and distance easily. A rotating scale on the right objective bell eliminates the need to do calculations for ranging and sizing, making these determinations quickly and easily. The reticle and compass are illuminated, and the compass is designed to work only in the Northern hemisphere.

Barska Deep Sea 7x50 Reviews

Not as expected

I am returning this item. Ignoring the extra features, I'd give these a C for image quality. As for size, they are on the bulky and heavy side for 7x50 binoculars. The extra features (Digital compass, ranging reticle) initially sold me on this item online. I was impressed that so many features could be included on one set of binoculars for such a reasonable price. Unfortunately, they can't. The inverted T ranging reticle is in the right optic and the compass display is in the left. With both eyes open (the way binoculars are intended to be used) the reticles overlap each other. They can only be accurately used by closing one eye or the other. The binoculars must also be used with the eye cups pulled apart to thier widest setting otherwise the reticle and compass are not flush with the horizon, but canted inward and crossing over each other. It's very difficult to maintain fusion and focus with your subjectand reticles occupying 3 different planes. This might work in a spotting scope, but I think these binoculars fail in all departments. Also no auto off, when I pulled them out a few days later for a second try, the batteries were dead.
