Barska AB11050 Overview

  • 1Description

The 10-30x60 Escape Zoom Binocular from Barska is designed for long-distance terrestrial and astronomical viewing. The powerful variable magnification range allows the viewer to scan a large field of view and then zoom in on the selected object to make detailed observations. Even at the mid-range magnifications, the large objectives and respectable exit pupil help to mitigate the appearance of the disorientating hand-shake that is common when using heavier, high-magnification binoculars. An ergonomically-placed zoom lever allows users to make fast magnification changes, while viewing through the eyepieces with a simple movement of their right finger. The large oversized objectives and multi-coated optics draw in copious amounts of light to push the low-light capabilities of the optic beyond dawn and dusk, while a large exit pupil at low magnification ensures complete coverage of the user's pupil when it gets fully dilated as light fades. Fold-down eyecups enable comfortable viewing with or without eyewear, and rubber armoring provide a slip-resistant grip. For long duration glassing sessions, or to keep the binocular steady at high magnifications, they can be tripod mounted using an optional adapter.

Barska AB11050 Reviews

10-30x60 Escape Zoom Binocular is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am going to purchase another for my son. I often go to Harvard's Arboretum, climb a hill far from the crowded walkways and wait about 15 minutes. If I remain still, the critters come out again and I can get excellent views of their daily lives. Birds, such as Cardinals and Blue Jays have vivid colors, which come through beautifully. Chipmunks, squirrels and other ground/tree dwellers often unseen in their normal habitats are a joy to watch. I can almost count the teeth as chipmunks gnaw on various items. I would recommend these binoculars for those who enjoy nature and wild life, seashores, etc. I was amazed when I took a peek at one of the islands in Boston Harbor, and found out there was a smaller one just to the North that I had not seen. To top it all off, on the horizon, I could see a container-ship heading out to sea, which was completely out of my normal scope of vision, but easily seen using the binoculars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I will give a second thaugt Good from 10 to 20x. Image start to suffer from barrel aberration when you go beyond 20x. No chromatic aberration that is good. If you do not mind the curved image it is excellent for spotting even handheld.
