Binocular Tripod Adapter is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed! I use with 16X binoculars on a Vanguard tripod. This device allows me to FIRMLY place my binocs onto tripod w/o wiggle. The male screw that goes into most female binoc. screw thread is not long enough and will not allow a FIRM tightening of binoc to adapter. This adapter has a slightly longer male screw so that you may firmly attach same! CAUTION! Do not overtighten or you may de-thread the binoculars fem. thread. Use caution and touch when screwing into binocs and you'll be fine. Most people reading this probably know this w/o having to be told however, there is always a neophyte or two amongst us thus,...use with aforeto-mentioned caveat!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sturdy well built adapter - restrictive on some binoculars Before purchase I read reviews and chatted with the B&H folks. Reviews pointed out that on certain binoculars the rubber knob is large enough it prevents the binoculars from being folded to a minimum interpupillary distance. I purchased a set of Hawke 12x56 binoculars from B&H. The adapter would not allow me to fold the binoculars to the minimum distance. For the price of the adapter I'm not going to return it. They fold close enough to work but aren't perfect for those binoculars. Other than that the mount is well built and solid. The large rubber knob makes it easy to screw in to the binocular mount.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Barska Binocular Tripod Adaptor This well-designed bino tripod adapter is something I wouldn't have thought to purchase but when I read it was available for use with my Nikon 10X50's I didn't hesitate to add it to my order. What I like about using a tripod with binos are that it frees my hands for note-taking and also allows me to share with other birders a best close-up view without having to pass the 10X50's around to others which is tricky and time-consuming while each person focuses. Especially, if I am working with children it allows them to easily see interesting sights without hassle.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from beware using it with some quick-release tripod mounts The 1/4"x20 bolt in the quick-release lightweight tripod mount I hoped to use with this adapter was not long enough to be inserted deep enough into the aluminum threads to securely hold the 10x50 binoculars I hoped to use with it, and the soft metal threads stripped when finger force was used to tighten it. If your tripod mounting bolt is long enough, it may work okay, but if it isn't, this soft metal aluminum adapter may quickly fail. Also, not necessarily a deal-breaker in and of itself but just FYI, this adapter for some reason literally stinks to high heaven--whatever substance was used in its manufacturing smells rather evil--it may dissipate in time, but I won't be using it to find out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what my sore arms needed This binocular tripod adapter was exactly what I needed to be able to use my 20x100 without having to hold them, making my star gazing much easier and much more comfortable. I've used B&H several times before with the same results--excellent service, on time delivery, and the right product for my needs. I'd recommend them to anyone who needs anything they sell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job Used to attach a Nikon 10x50 Action Extreme ATB Binocular (model # 7245) to a Manfrotto mounting plate. Can't really tighten very well with these particular binoculars. It is not a big problem, and I don't know the reason. Perhaps a rubber washer is needed. Nevertheless, it works well. It is made of metal (it looks like cast iron).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Metal Construction Holds 70x144 Binocs This item is great. It is metal construction, sturdy, and holds my 70x144 binoculars fine. The device fits on the binocs perfectly, which is a bonus since these binocs have very little space between the tubes because the optics are so large. If you are interested in these, you may wish to order them QUICK because they have been discountinued by the manufacturer. The construction of the item sent by B&H was metal, a light alloy probably aluminum but definately NOT plastic.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Measure before you Buy This is a rugged adapter. But be sure you've got room to use it with your binoculars. The mount is fully 0.400 thick and may interfere with pushing your binoculars in to the lower interocular limit. The thumbscrew is a bulky 0.850 and may not even allow the binoculars to be mounted at all.
