The scope's 50mm objective draws in generous amounts of light while being small enough that the scope is still portable. Its objective, combined with fully multi-coated optics, gives the Blackhawk competent low-light performance such as at dawn or dusk, or when trying to pick out game from under heavily canopied forests. Complementing the optical coatings is a neutral-tone green lens tint that renders colors accurately and helps to reduce glare while brightening shadows, especially in low light.
