How do I mount this boom arm on a standard light stand? It seems that it seems that it is made for a 5/8 thread mic stand.

To be able to mount the AtlasIED PB21XEB Adjustable Boom Arm to a standard light stand, you would need to use an adapter like the CAMVATE Light Stand Mount with 1/4"-20 Screw & 5/8" Male Adapter [BH #CAC1939].

What stand should I use with this boom arm? I have an Atlas Sound MS-43E which is pretty stable, 8-lb base, but is it enough when used with Shure BLX24?

You can use your Atlas MS-43E mic stand with this boom arm and a Shure BLX2 handheld wireless mic transmitter (which is the transmitter for BLX24 system). The MS-43E can support the weight of the boom arm and the mic.
