    Atlas Sound PB21XEB reviews

PB21XEB Adjustable Boom Arm is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best quality and worth a bit more The Atlas boom arms are the best I've found for use in my studio. They include a 2-lb weight that attaches with a set screw. The parts all fit together well and work easily. The clutch is good and easy to set and release, and has good modulation for small or large smooth adjustments. I usually pay a bit more for these boom arms, but it's worth if for their good quality of design and manufacture. They are available in several lengths, so I can always find the size I want. Much better than many of the cheaper ones. Highly recommended from the owner of a pro studio.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a sturdy boom arm I bought this to go with the medium length Atlas mic stand for use as in a table-top set-up. The stand out feature is the counterweight that definitely makes hanging larger mics more sturdy. I wouldn't mind an even heavier weight (the included one is two pounds) for my large condenser mics, but it's better than other stands with no weight at all. The pivot mechanism is heavy duty and smooth. I'm sure it'll hold up well. On the negative side, the thumb screw knobs on the extensions are plastic and seem a bit flimsy and out-of-place compared with the rest of the construction. There are also no supplied clips for cable management. Even the cheap stand I bought on e-Bay came with a couple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Boom Arm For musicians needing a solid boom arm, look no further. Atlas is simply the best you can purchase in this price range. I play keyboards and need a long boom that extends off the piano. Before getting the PB21X, boom arms would fall due to the weight of the microphone. As a result, I would either crank the arm, stripping it after several uses OR I'd have to shorten and move the stand closer. Then whenever I tried to play in the upper register my hands would run into the stand or I'd clam notes from trying to move around it. Not anymore! The counterweight is awesome and this boom arm is head and shoulders above others I've owned--and believe me I've tried them all. The telescoping allows for both short and long applications, i.e.- piano, guitar, strings and other miking needs. If you're wondering if it's worth the investment, I say yes! Believe me when I say you WON'T need to tamper with your mic boom anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, Well-Built and Great Counterweight! I needed two booms for existing mic stands, and these two came at a great price for the excellent build quality. But the double-edged sword: the counterweight makes them great for studio recording, but I fear that taking them on the road will add to my schlepping weight!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best Adjustment is smooth and easy. Counterweight is enough for decently heavy microphones (2-3 lbs mics). Very well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality, Fit and Finish Nice boom for small studio use. All metal construction and nice looking finish. Comes with adapter for mic mount.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works with 88 key keyboard I need a boom that would reach center of my full size keyboard. It works perfectly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professional Quality Boom I love this boom stand. Right out of the box i could tell it was quality by the weight, I'm sorry but weight and quality often go hand in hand. The 3/4 lb counterweight (obviously adding to the weight/ quality issue) is great in keeping the boom from that annoying slow drooping the occurs from lesser quality booms and heavier microphones. All the knobs tighten and hold their place with ease. Telescoping action adds versatility to give you any placement you could need. Very Well made as expected from Atlas.
