Nisha SEP1 Overview

This Nisha Eye Piece with Rubber Cup is a rubber eye cup with protective glass for select Sony DSLR cameras. The eye piece mounts onto your camera, and the rubber cup blocks unwanted light and provides added comfort while you are looking through the camera's viewfinder.

This accessory is compatible with most older cameras. Some of the more recent models released in 2011 and later are not fully compatible because the eye piece blocks the EVF sensor, preventing the automatic switching between EVF and LCD. This occurs with the Alpha a7, a7R, a7S, SLT-A65, SLT-A57, SLT-A58, SLT-A77, and a77II cameras.

Nisha SEP1 Reviews

Not great on the Sony A7/7r/S

I got this hoping to replace the original eye piece that I lost for my Sony A7. Unfortunately this eye piece covers up the sensor which detects when you bring your eye up to the EVF. This makes it unusable for my needs though that doesn't mean it wont work for other users. If you don't need this feature or your camera doesn't have it this may be a great solution. The glass piece in the eye cup looks like it would protect the glass in the view finder nicely.

poorly designed product

When using my A57 in bright sunlight, it was very difficult to use the EVF due to the glare in my eye. I had hoped the this cup would block the glare and alleviate this problem. Unfortunately, the rubber was too hard and improperly shaped to facilitate this. Moreover it blocked the EVF sensor and prevented the automatic switching between the EVF and LCD. Because of this I returned it and can not recommend this product.
