Teradek Cube 500 Camera-top Composite Encoder (1-Channel)
Key Features
  • Streams Composite Video
  • Input Resolutions up to 480i / 576i
  • H.264 (Level 4.1) Video Compression
  • 4G Support / Built-in Scaler
The Teradek Cube 500 Camera-top Composite Encoder (1-Channel) streams composite video directly from your camera to a Cube decoder, computer, laptop, server, or a mobile device such as an iPad, over a wired ethernet. H.264 High Profile (Level 4.1) video compression helps reduce video file sizes without compromising on the quality and integrity of images. The Cube 500 Encoder supports 480i / 576i input resolutions. Downscaling to lower resolutions is possible via a built-in scaler that allows for output streaming at 240p resolution. Moreover, users can select the resolution and target bit rate according to the available IP bandwidth.

Teradek Cube Series Overview

Lightweight construction and compact size lets you mount the encoder on several cameras including RED ONE, Arri Alexa, Panavision Genesis, Canon 5Dii, and Canon 7D. By using its own wireless (ad hoc) network for transmission, the encoder does not require any additional networking equipment. Furthermore, it can stream over a LAN or WAN using a wireless router by joining an infrastructure network.

The Cube 500 encoder features a Setup Wizard that helps simplify configuration. To begin streaming video, simply provide video and power inputs, create a network, logon to Cube's web interface and complete the Setup Wizard.

Native integration with Livestream makes the Cube 500 suitable for turnkey (ready for immediate use) video streaming. Enter your Livestream account information into Cube's user interface, zero in on a broadband uplink, and you are all set to begin broadcasting. While using Livestream, upload / download speeds of 8 Mbps have been achieved on the Verizon 4G LTE network in the Los Angeles and New York metro areas.

Using a single Verizon 4G modem connected to the optional USB port, the encoder can stream videos to Livestream. This allows the encoder to be used as a backup internet connection or even as a mobile wireless live streaming camera
