Impact CC-106R Overview

  • 1Description

The Impact Super Clamp with Ratchet Handle is a versatile grip tool made of lightweight cast alloy. With a load capacity of 33 lb, the clamp can hold a wide variety of items such as cameras, lights, umbrellas, hooks, shelves, plate glass, cross bars, even other Super Clamps.

The Super Clamp can be securely mounted on any tube or pipe from 0.5" to 2.1" and is supplied with a wedge insert for clamping onto flat surfaces. The ratchet handle allows you to disengage it and tighten it down from any angle; a very handy feature when you're using the clamp in tight quarters. A built-in socket holds 5/8" accessories such as the supplied SRP-102 Hex Stud with 1/4"-20 male thread.

    Impact CC-106R Reviews

Super Clamp with Ratchet Handle is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 154.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tripod substitute The Impact Super Clamp Works well as a tripod substitute if you can find a place to mount it. I'm using it to avoid carrying a tripod and as a substitute for a Joby Gorillapod. The Gorillapod did not grip well enough to be practicable. I first tried the Impact Super Clamp with only a Sunwayfoto DDC-60i Screw-Knob Clamp to hold the camera but that overly restricted camera positions and did not allow panning for panoramas. I then tried a Joby Ballhead X (see picture), which works well. Since I now had the Sunwayfoto Clamp, which has a nice level, I replaced the Joby's clamp with the Sunwayfoto. Obviously the Sunwayfoto is an unnecessary frill. The Impact Super Clamp and the Joby Ballhead X provide an entirely adequate Arca-Swiss compatible mount.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good clamp with ratchet handle Versatile tool for holding flash units or cameras. I have a Manfrotto clamp, but it does not have the ratchet handle, and that is handy in cramped quarters. Apparently, Manfrotto does not offer one. The Impact Super Clamp has a ratchet handle, and is otherwise almost identical to the Manfrotto. The only downside to the Impact clamp is that the jaw covering is too smooth, and the clamp can slip on a round rod when used with a heavy load. It won't fall, but the alignment will be messed up. Tip: cut a piece of a household rubber glove and put that between the jaws and the rod. The Manfrotto can also suffer from the same problem, but that may be because it is old and the jaws have hardened. In any case, the Impact does a fine job.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from can slip a little This thing is huge, It can appear that its secure but has the tendency to slip/spin around a pole so just double check and tighten it extra tight before putting something on it,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big and sturdy I use this to mount my Zoom H5 recorder on one of my tripod legs so I have all my audio and video controls in one place. It holds very securely, and I'm not at all worried about the recorder falling off. I've used it on a couple of on-location shoots so far. I think it will last a long time. It is a lot bigger and heavier than I expected! I originally planned to mount the recorder on a boompole so the audio guy could get at the controls easily, but the clamp alone weighs more than the entire assembled boom. It's not so great for situations where you need light weight, but I'm sure it could hold a lot more than just an audio recorder. This will definitely be a standard piece of equipment in my bag from now on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impact Super Clamp Review I have Super Clamps from a couple of other manufacturers and thought I would try this one-sure glad I did. While the general dimensions of this clamp are like the others this one has a couple of nice additional features. It comes with a supporting block that fits into the angled jaw of the clamp and allows you to clamp down onto flat surfaces like a shelf edge, etc. The other feature that sets this clamp apart is that the clamp tightening handle can be pulled out and repositioned as needed to get the clamp tightened just right. Really well made and a good value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indispensable Indispensable piece of kit, I use it countless ways from a boom holder to holding a simple piece of foam core. Build quality is excellent, solid grip, smooth action, powerful jaws. You have piece of mind that this clamp is going to do its job and do it well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than manfrotto and matthews I think its the best super clamp on the market. Very strong grip jaws. Get the one with the ratchet handle it locks stronger. Plus i recommend the matthews pin for greater versatility with grip heads and etc'.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Solid Build Quality I bought this for a few reasons: hanging lights on location, and mounting a GoPro gimbal rig on my bike. This clamp is a very solid build quality and works exactly as one would expect from a super clamp/mafer clamp. The pin is very secure in the clamp, and I pair this most often with the 6 extension arm for added flexibility of the gear. Can't beat the price. I will definitely order more of these in the future.
