Would I be able to use this on a c-stand?
No, a C-stand is usually fitted with a 5/8 stud. It doesn't have a threaded fitting.

What's the largest diameter of this adapter?
The largest diameter (knurled section) is approximately 19/32 . It's the same for the other adapter (1/4 female to 3/8 male) as well. I have both.
