The Datavideo HS-2000 Travel Kit consists of an HS-2000 5 Channel HD Mobile Studio, an HDR-40 HD / SD SDI HDD Recorder, and three CASDI 50' (15.2 m) SDI cables.
The HS-2000 is a versatile mobile solution engineered around Datavideo's popular switcher range, and designed to satisfy the demands of users on-the-go. Five channels can be set to either 1920 x 1080i or 1280 x 720p HD resolutions. The device combines 1 or 2 DVI-D sources and 3 or 4 HD-SDI sources. It boasts a 17" (43.2 cm) multi-view LCD (LED backlit) video monitor. The built-in audio mixer featuring balanced XLR connectors enables up to 4 channels of microphone or line audio inputs, and comes with a complete 5-way intercom system equipped with headsets, tally lights and 4 belt packs for multiple users.
You can operate the HS-2000 easily and efficiently, since every control is right on the work surface. Program output is recordable on a digital video recorder like the Datavideo HDR-40 (included in this kit) or 50 (not included). Once recorded, the output can then be monitored on the LCD. PowerPoint presentations or Character generation software, such as Datavideo's CG-350 (not included), may be added to your live production using your computer via the DVI-D input. Keeping mobility in mind, the aluminum case is a nice combination of lightweight material and solid, trusty protection. As a result, your HS-2000 can go virtually anywhere you do!
The HDR-40 HD / SD SDI HDD Recorder is a hard drive based video recorder which comes equipped with a 250 GB hard drive in a removable enclosure. It's also supplied with an extra removable enclosure. It's engineered for studio desktop applications. The HDR-40 will record from both standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) video equipment via SDI. It's got an HDMI output, as well as convenient SDI loop through. As far as resolutions, you have a choice of 1080i, 720p, 576i and 480i recording formats. Enjoy the ability to record HD video in either IBP or Intra-frame (i frame), and SD video in IBP.
The .M2T files recorded with the HDR-40 are compatible with a broad array of NLE and play-out solutions on the market today. When recording is finished, the hard drive enclosure easily ejects and may then be connected via High-Speed USB 2.0 to a PC or Mac based NLE system. A USB 2.0 to mini-USB cable is supplied. If you like, you can work right from the removable drive, or you can copy video files into the NLE's video drives. The remote control interface features RS-422, RS-232 and GPI for simple integration with other equipment.
