Datavideo SE-500 Overview

The Datavideo SE-500 Studio Kit includes the SE-500 4 Channel Analog Mixer / Switcher, the DN-500 Rackmountable Hard Drive Recorder with installed hard drive, the ITC-100 8 Way Intercom System with 4 belt packs for 4 users, the TLM-702 2x7" Wide Screen TFT LCD Monitor Bank, and the and RKM-572 holder.

The SE-500 4 Channel Analog Mixer / Switcher is a small, lightweight, four-channel analog input, digital processing video switcher. It has both S-Video (Y/C) and Composite Video inputs. Additionally, it offers Component (Y:U:V) output, ideal for connection to DVD recorders, hard drive recorders, LCD TVs, projectors and more. The SE-500 is primarily designed for applications within schools, places of worship, seminars, small studios, clubs, pubs and the like.

A unique feature of the SE-500 is its ability to display all 4 input sources using one quad output, the preview display also featuring a superimposed tally indicator on every input. So, you only need 2 video monitors: One for the four inputs and one for the program output. Additional features include effects like dissolve, fade, and multiple types of wipes; Split Screen; Picture in Picture (PiP) and Color Processor.

The switcher's input sources are internally synched through an integrated 4-channel 4:2:2 Time Base Corrector (TBC) and frame synchronizer. This means that there's no external synchronizing (Genlock) of the cameras or sources required in order to achieve a smooth, glitch-free transition. The SE-500 is manually operable using the illuminated push buttons, which are ideal when working under low light conditions, or may be controlled via the standard RS-232 and MIDI interfaces.

The DN-500 Rackmountable Hard Drive Recorder makes full use of tapeless acquisition under even the toughest of conditions by recording in DV and HDV format. Make capturing obsolete and instead take advantage of native DV and HDV recording while monitoring on a standard video monitor (SD only). After finishing your recording, just eject the hard drive carrier for simple connection to your NLE system via standard USB. It's just that easy. DV File Conversion software is included with the DN-500. Supported files include: Quick Time / Reference movie, AVI Type 1 and 2, Reference AVI Type 1 and 2, SONY ES-3 DV Canopus AVI Type 1 and 2, Matrox RT2500 / Design Suit DV, SONY DSR DU-1 DV (.dvd), AVID DV OMF file, and RAW DV (.dv / .dif / .dvsd). This configuration comes with a hard drive included.

The ITC-100 8 Way Intercom System helps maintain open communication among the director, camera crew, producer, lighting and control room technicians, floor manager and anyone else involved in running a successful live production. It offers 8-way talkback and tally indicators. The director has the freedom to choose to talk to an individual channel or all channels at the same time. The ITC 100's standard 19" 1U rack design makes it a simple task to integrate it into any rack system for field or studio use. The system comes with 4 ITC-100SL Belt Packs, one for each user.

The TLM-702 2x7" Wide Screen TFT LCD Monitor Bank features dual 2x7" (5.1 x 17.8 cm) wide screen monitors with 480 x 234 resolution and a 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio. The displays are adjustable for Brightness, Contrast, Color and Tint (NTSC only). Two selectable video inputs are available per monitor. NTSC / PAL Auto switching is enabled, as well. Datavideo collaborates with LCD manufacturers to ensure that only displays of the highest caliber are used, and even offers a guarantee against spotlight defects. A versatile device, the TLM-702 can run on 12 V DC or AC power. Engineered for video professionals who demand superb performance, the monitor bank is a trusty companion for field operation, video editing, or the most advanced multimedia video production you've undertaken yet.

Finally, the RKM-572 holder is a rack-style tool used to contain the SE-500, DN-500, ITC-100, and TLM-702.
