The National Optical & Scientific Instruments DC3-163-PH Compound Biological Microscope is a high-grade optic with a built-in 0.4Mp digital/500 TV lines analog camera. Designed for use in research facilities, the microscope is filled with a number of features, including DIN plan phase objectives.
The optical system of the DC3-163-PH includes the following oil immersion objectives: 4x, 10x, 40xR, and 100xR. All are achromatic, parfocalled, parcentered, and color-coded. The 30° inclined binocular head features widefield 10x eyepieces, a revolving pointer, dual diopters, interpupillary adjustment, and a 3-position sliding rod that directs light.
When it comes to illumination, the microscope uses halogen with a variable rheostat control. The light is turned on and off by an illuminated on/off switch. A 12V DC power converter operates on a 100-240V current without need of an additional transformer.
The 1.25 N.A. Abbe condenser uses rack and pinion focusing with coaxial coarse and fine focusing controls. Safety features include a slip clutch, a tension adjustment, and a safety rack stop. Additionally, the DC3-163-PH has a lifetime warranty and a 1-year limited warranty on the camera, for peace-of-mind.
