Not able to pair with Bad Elf

I purchased this with a Bad Elf Pro+ gps. Tried a million times to get them to pair together but it never happened. Now it is a shelf ornament. I contacted both Bad Elf and Foolography customer support. The Bad Elf support got back to me quickly, but after two emails they stopped responding. I guess if they can't fix it immediately, they jjust give up. 3 weeks later, I am still in contact with Foolography, but progress is slow because it takes them 3-7 days to respond...kinda hard to offer assistance in such a slow manner. Nevertheless, I am still without a working unit. Not recommended.

Limited Lifetime but it's a cutie

This less than a thumbnail size unit adds the coordinates to the Exif file of the picture. I have purchased my 3rd Unleashed blue tooth receiver after I ordered the 1st 2 years ago, When it fails, the failure makes the camera totally dysfunctional. I travel a lot, I hike a lot so the coordinates are of great value to me. It adds the coordinate in an almost invisible way due to it's small size ... and it does not occupy the camera hot show so a flash still can be used. It works very well with my Holux M-1000C. For functionality and size I would give this baby a 5*, but due to the life time issue I give it an overall 4* because I love it

Took this one 'right here'!!!

This module is great... easy to use. Only problem is that the module pops out of the D700's 10-pin connection. Almost lost it twice and my colleague did lose his... noticed it missing 100 miles down the road. Workaround is to hot glue a loop of nylon line to the housing and hook it around the neck strap.

This is a great product

I have one of these on my D200 and the model for the D90. They are wonderful. In the past I have had cables to use with a mapping GPS and after a while, they always became damaged due to yanking of the cables. This just works. I use it with a Holux M-241 and just turn it on and don't think about it. Oliver Perialis is the man behind the product and has produced a wonderful unit. I am happy that B&H now carries them as I purchased mine directly from foolography and had to deal with shipping and exchange rates.

Best geotag solution for Nikon users

I have used the Unleashed D200 bluetooth adapter on a D700, D800 and D810 for several years. You do have to modify it to seat the module correctly on the D800 and D810 but once that is done it works perfectly. I have used it with the Holux GPS but any GPS with bluetooth should work. If you must have geotags, and I am one who must, Nikon is offering no real help, The modules that clamp on the hot shoe interfere with flash and are always in the way. This little module attaches to the 10 pin connector where I always leave it. You can use a remote shutter release with a banana plug that with this unit.

Works well.

I recently purchased the unleashed a D200+ for use with a Nikon D800 and a Bad-Elf GPS Pro 2200. Everything works flawlessly as advertised. I was a little worried that the device needed to be modified for use on a D800 but I went forward anyway because I wanted a wireless system without using the hot shoe. However, I found that the modification necessary to fit the D800 took no technical skill, was very easy and took less than 3 minutes. I had a couple of questions about installation. The Foolography folks answered my e-mail within one business day. Now my D800 works with my GPS and Lightroom to geotag all my photos and place the exact location on the map. It accurately mapped my change in location when I only moved a few feet. I also appreciate that the D800 uses the date and time from the GPS device so everything is in sync even if I change time zones. Great product. I would give it 5 stars if I did not have to do the modification.

Will this device work with Nikon F100 (10 pin) ...

Will this device work with Nikon F100 (10 pin) camera, as the F100 does save data for each image for each roll and if connected to GPS, the GPS data is saved to camera as well. The Nikon F100 camera afterwards (end of roll) can upload data, via the 10 pin connector, to PC using software. connected by 10 pin connector ( like Nikon Photo Secretary or Promote Systems software for Nikon F100 camera). The Promote Systems made a GPS module with 10 pin, designed for Nikon F100 camera, but they discontinued that product. I have the Promote Systems 10 pin to USB dongle and it currently up loads all the camera data at end of roll. I just need a way to communicate/ GPS data using the 10 pin connector and a GPS device ( or GPS via Bluetooth module). Both the "Nikon GP-1" and "Promote GPS devices" modules are discontinued and used a lot of power from the camera? Answered by Scott Aug 7, 2021

No, the following unit is not compatible with your Nikon F100 film camera. There is no way for the module to automatically receive the GPS data and embed it to a digital file as your camera is film based.
