Alright, so the basic, intended use of these little adapters is pretty apparent. What they do for me is open up solutions for lots of other kinds of rigging with cameras and lightweight needs. Using them as starters to rig camera centric tools has been super helpful. I have built a stand based teleprompter unit to unload the prompter head from the camera for quicker set-up and easier on the camera team. They are really a great tool for so many different kinds of applications.

I'm using this on a baby pin extension arm. It's heavy and made of thick metal. I feel confident that this adapter will carry a lot of weight and last me a long time. You should know that it will probably leave some of the baby pin exposed below if it's standard length. Not an issue for me.

The weak link will be the stand or the head used. You will need to make sure those items are rated adequately for your job.

Has anyone tried to compare this adapter with the one from Kupo? (Kupo Baby Ball Head Adapter BH #KUKG014212). What is the plus and minus of this Matthews adapter - versus the one from Kupo?
Asked by: Jan
Both adapters are high quality. The Kupo has two threaded spots to tighten it down which could help if the stand you have has a notch in a place that does not line up with the Matthews.
