A unique limited edition lens, this Heliar 50mm f/2 from Voigtlander has been produced to commemorate the Cosina-Voigtlander collaboration, and takes on a vintage feel, complete with a nickel-plated exterior, to recall some of Voigtlander's early lens designs. It is an M39 screw-mount lens for direct use with many early rangefinder bodies, however it is delivered here with a lens adapter to Leica M-mount for extended compatibility.
In regard to its optical attributes, this lens utilizes high refractive index glass to control field curvature, monochromatic aberrations, and various distortions for improved clarity and overall sharpness. Its manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 3.3' away, and a ten-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality to suit shallow depth of field imagery.
