    Tascam SS-R200 reviews

SS-R200 Solid State Digital Audio Recorder is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good initial impression I'm using the recorder with an Avalon VT-737sp to record voice overs and interviews, so a simple recorder I could rack mount with the pre-amp is a must. So far, I've only used it to record .wav files. The files sound great when played back on my system, so I'm happy with the recorder. The one thing that I noticed that I didn't like was the keyboard port. I don't use ps2 keyboards anymore. It's got a USB port for a flash drive or keyboard, and I don't know if I could put a usb hub on it with a keyboard, but what would it have taken to put a 2nd USB port on the front panel. Even without that, I would still buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top rate audio device! We have a college TV control room and needed a record/playback device for music and sound effects or whatever other audio source they may want to use. This thing works as advertised and the display is bigger than my other unit in our other control room (Denon DN-F650R). Very intuitive interface. I installed it, put an 8GB SD card in it, formatted it and was recording and playing back in minutes. Very straight forward. It still has a lot of menus for tweaking things but I found that the default settings were perfect for our use. XLR-analog input. Very nice unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm impressed I use this unit for stereo mix down from multi-track recorders through an analog mixer. After my learning curve on the menus and the input level settings, this unit is simple to use and it performs flawlessly. I am extremely impressed with the quality of the sound and the general quality of the entire unit. The weakest part of the unit is the display but it is still very usable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Descent, but could have been better I purchased this unit for my church because our CD recorder went out. I like the fact that you can record to CF, SD and or USB drive. However, my first complaint is that it has a wired remote, our Tascam CD recorder purchased in 2003 had a wireless remote. How does 9 years pass and the technology go backwards? Also the fade feature that was nice on the Tascam CD recorder, is also absent here. Lastly being 2012, it would have been nice for a network card connection to be apart of it. So instead of having to pop out the CF or SD card and hook it up to another computer to edit the file, it would have been nice to drag the file via network to the computer. It is otherwise easy and simple to setup folders and such.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excelent Product I use this product in my home studio. It is an excelent machine whith good sound and all that I need for my applications. The display is not as good as it could be, but adjusting the contrast and the brightness it's OK. The serial interface is usefull but far from being user friendly. You must be skilled in computer language to use it. I'm using the Tascam since only 10 days and working on a simple software to control it. If I succeed I'll post the results in the internet.
