A lot of these cables seem to short one of the signal pins to ground, which can cause issues or even damage output circuits. Is this the case here?
As our trusted rep from Hosa has mentioned, this is an unbalanced cable with pins 1 and 3 connecting to the sleeve while pin 2 connects to the tip. The Rean connectors used in its construction are pro quality and made by Neutrik. An unbalanced XLR to 1/4" cable like this one has a 1/4" TS connector which won't short the signal when used to connect to an unbalanced input. Avoid using balanced XLR to 1/4" TRS cables, which could cause issues when used to connect to an unbalanced input.
