I Love Hosa Cables!

I've been using Hosa cables for over 20+ years, and I’ve been really happy with it. It’s a simple 10-foot XLR to TRS cable, but it feels solid and works exactly like it should. No weird noise or loose connections—just a clean signal every time. I’ve used Hosa cables for years, and this one lives up to the same dependable quality.

A good cable for when it's needed.

A useful cable if plugging from an XLR to a 1/4 connection like on many interfaces. Does what it's supposed to, which matters a lot on the job.

In order to assist you we will need you to provide more details about the microphone that you are using and the amplifier that you are connecting to. These are important factors that need to be taken into consideration to determine whether there may be a compatibility issue, a problem with grounding, or if you may need a different cable or something else. Please contact us by phone or through live chat on the website and we will be happy to help.

This cable is an interconnect meant for line-level signal between devices, not shielded for mic applications. If you want a 10ft mic cable in our Pro series, the part # would be HMIC-010HZ. Best regards, Hosa Support.

question

What does balanced and unbalanced mean when referring to audio cables? Thanks
Asked by: Anonymous
There's a lot of information about this on the web, so I'd recommend looking into your specific usage/gear before deciding on cables, but here's some very general info-A balanced line serves the purpose of reducing noise and maximizing signal volume. Basically, the shield of a cable picks up noise/electromagnetic sh*t over distance (length of cable) like an antenna. A balanced line and balanced gear deal with this by sending 3 lines - your signal from source, shield/ground, and another copy of your source that is 180 degrees out of phase with itself---> Because the cable is picking up the same noise on both that signal and the phased signal, when your balanced gear recombines these two signals back into phase with each other, the noise is phased out/reduced/eliminated. Louder, cleaner signal for lack of better words. Unbalanced lines just send your signal and a shield, therefore not performing this balancing of your signal and inducing noise into your signal. Lastly, it's really the gears inputs/outputs that deal with this balancing, so again, know your gear and what the appropriate cables are. There is no advantage to using a balanced cable on unbalanced gear inputs/outputs.example of balancing application: a long microphone cable to a PA (a very low voltage High-Z line, susceptible to noise over far distance).hope that helps .
