Watson CR123A 400mAh Batteries Reviews

Be very, very careful using these...

I purchased 8 of these batteries to use in several flash units and to have some spares on hand. All charged on official Watson chargers for the CR123A batteries. After each were charged I removed them from the charger and set them on my desk. I went to have dinner and came back ~ 2 hours later to load them into my flash units. I started putting the "extra" batteries into a battery storage case and was scalded by one of them as I picked it up. It was EXTREMELY HOT and left me with 3 blisters fingers. I thanked my lucky stars that I didn't place that battery into one of my flash unit's earlier, straight off of the charger. Then I discovered it would cost me more to send it back under warranty than to just buy another battery. The customer pays all shipping. When it comes time to replace the rest of them it won't be with more Watson's. I realize1 in 8 isn't bad odds really -- unless I would have burned up a new flash unit after installing the bad one. Beware.

Better than expected

Can this Watson CR123A-3V -400 mAH rechargeable battery be used for Nikon F80s film camera? I have Panasonic CR123A -3Volts -1400 mAh non chargeable battery. Since mAH ratings of Panasonic battery & Watson rae different therefore Watson battery having 400 mAH rating will work on the Nikon F80s film camera?
Asked by: Ashvini K.
It may work. Since the desired amps are lowered than the battery's output amps, there won't be any harm in trying.

question

Has anyone put these on a volt meter? I would like to know what the voltage of these are without a load...
Asked by: Jason H.
The nominal rating is 3.0VDC. After charging, most likely the voltage will be higher than that for some time. As the battery ages, it will lose the capacity for over voltage.
