    IOGEAR GFR381 reviews

    SuperSpeed USB 3.1 Gen 1 Multi-Card Reader/Writer is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't work before falling apart I thought my motherbard was malfunctioning (Gigabyte, Z77 based) but then realized it was the reader. Real piece of junk. Had to wiggle the cable around for the system to see the thing. Eventually some piece broke off - it had no signs of soldering. When it was recognized it had 2.0 transfer speeds (15 mins for a 30 gb D800 folder in my case). I bought a K-brand reader from a different store - it's fast and doesn't cause problems, transfers 30 gigs in about 4 mins.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT recommended - too cheaply made I don't write reviews often but wanted to warn people. It worked great the first couple times I used it with my Macbook Pro Retina laptop. But suddenly it stopped working altogether right after I plugged the USB cable into it. After trying it with mulitple cards and on multiple computers, I opened it to find that the USB port inside the reader had separated connections from the motherboard. It should not break simply from plugging the USB cable in after a few times, so it is just too cheaply made in my opinion. This seems to be the main complaint for most card readers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solves the problem! As simple as this little gizmo is, it makes a big difference for me in handling CF and SD cards, allowing me to put the card reader where it is the easiest to handle and utilize it, which guess what, is not at the front panel of my computer where my inbuilt slots are located. Plus, I can move it around to any USB input. Simple tool, but does solve the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful upgrade to my system! I am thrilled with how quickly video files upload from my SD card to my computer using this USB 3 card reader. It is an excellent product and works flawlessly, saving me a great deal of time. What formerly took 23 minutes is now accomlished in a little more than one minute. I highly recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works as advertised... Downloads from my 60 mb/s CF card were at 56 to 60 mb/s. Makes me want to purchase a 90 mb/s CF card for my camera! It seems strange that the readers USB cable is so long, but that's much better than being to short. Haven't had the product long enough to judge reliablity.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a safe purchase The USB 3 output for the card reader is not well seated/protected and became disconnected from the board after a month or two of occasional use, effectively killing the reader. This is a badly designed, cheap tool. Go with another company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No complaints! This card reader couldn't be easier to use! It's works well with all types of cards and most importantly, works really quickly!
