The Genus Matte Box Lite is a lightweight clip-on matte box that can be used with DSLRs and camcorders. It comes with a filter tray that fits 4 x 4" filters and requires an adapter to mount onto your lens.
A Genus french flag can optionally be added to protect against flare and light penetration.

I purchased the GML Kit about a month ago, after keeping my eye on it for awhile then suddenly having an opportunity to order it for a shoot. I ordered One Day shipping, to get it in time, and the Genustech team was excellent to work with to make that happen, and has continued to be with any questions I've had since. Since then, the matte box has worked great for my needs as a primarily mobile and handheld camera op. It is lightweight and compact, in addition to being quick to mount/unmount. A perk of this matte box compared to rail mounting matte boxes is that since I primarily use zoom lenses, the matte box remains at the front of my lens even as the zoom increases. One thing to be aware of is that since the matte box solely tightens down around the step up ring, it can be nudged and canted to a slight angle. Unless its nudged a lot to an extreme angle it won't cut into your frame any though, except perhaps on a super wide angle lens. For anyone who wants a lightweight matte box for a compact rig, I'd definitely recommend the GML Kit.
