Perfect tool for bright shoots

I film professional skate videos so I’m always filming outdoors. This very affordable accessory is a must have for after-clip reviewing when out in the bright sun. It also allows for seamless lcd use under the same conditions. This accessory is a must have addition to an expensive set up.

This product is OK, decently built. I tried using on a canon R5 during the day, he did not block out as much flight as I was anticipating. If you are particulate your screen out until the left, or away from the camera at all is the best way to use it. This would be a lot better served if it was “collapsible“. Putting it inside your backpack was a bit of a challenge if your bag is full.

Yes, the unit features Sony offers 3.2 lcd display. the LCD hood can accommodate lcds up to 3.5 inches.

This works with flip out screens thus we cannot see how it will work with a Sony a7 tilt screen. There is no known hood that will work. You might consider a device like this: Dot Line Swivi Foldable LCD Viewfinder B&H # DOCSSWIVIVF3.

Can't say as I use a Sony AX100. However, mine is with me every time I do photography. As a matter of fact I was using it today to photograph 2 Japanese gardens. I attach mine to my camera bag strap so it is always handy and it only takes a minute to slip on to the camera. Plus the most important thing, it works.

The Vello 3.5" LCD Hood has not been tested with the Panasonic HC-V550E Full HD Camcorder (B&H # PAHCV550E) and the LCD monitor is 3". Alternatively, there is a smaller version: The Vello 3.0" LCD Hood (B&H # VELHV30).
