Sony no longer offers replacement batteries for its DSC cameras and since B & H is such a great company, decided to give this Watson a try. Perfect fit and works great!

Not Just Less Expensive, Better than the Original

Bought two of these for an older Sony whose native InfoLithium battery had lost its logic and would charge, but wouldn't interface with the camera. So I was concerned these batteries may have a similar problem, though I knew the Watson brand was good and if not, B&H would make it right. After charging and testing in the camera, they display and function like new OEM batteries. Not only that, they spec to have about 20% more amp hours so should provide that much more time shooting between charges. Now, there's a happy purchase - cheaper and better!

Works well if you can keep it seated

The battery holds a good charge and works flawlessly-when it stays seated. It appears to be ~1mm shorter than the OEM Sony battery for my camera, and thus the lock that keeps it from jostling off of the contacts doesn't actually touch the battery. Multiple times now, motion and contact from regular use have caused the battery to unseat (I'm using it on a Sony Handycam DCR-PC9 with a horizontally mounted battery, so gravity doesn't help hold it against the contacts). It never backs off the contacts enough to immediately turn the camera off, but it does cause the Infolitium system to stop recognizing the battery and triggers the Infolitium only error, which tells the camera to shut off and locks you out until you remove and reseat the battery.

No Hassle Replacement

All you could ask for in an aftermarket replacement ... fit, function, and a fair price. The fit part is an issue for some manufacturers of this battery size, so I am happy to have found these. Too soon to tell how they'll hold up, but I'm an optimist.

B&H of course! This is a Great replacement for a Sony info lithium battery and preserved all function. Obsolecence quashed again by B&H!
