SuperSpeed USB 3.0 4-Port Hub is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Plug & Play I needed a couple extra ports for my wireless keyboard and bluetooth dongles. Connected the Hub and the device was recognized and activated in a matter of seconds. Pluged in my dongles and in seconds I was wireless. I was going to use it to connect my external HD but my computer would not recognize the type of HD, i.e. the icon would not appear so I reconnected the HD directly to the laptop. I will probably run my printer through the Hub, but haven't as of yet. Did not run software disk provided due to comments read elsewhere about programs being loaded automatically with out authorization. I like the product and B&H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent 3.0 USB HUG Iogear makes good stuff. Period. I only have a 2.0 and a 3.0 USB ports om my laptop so I needed some more territory. I have 2 other Iogear 2.0 USB ports, so that problem is solved. Now to get my Portable Hard Disk Drive to function at it's fullest potential, I needed extra 3.0 ports. This device comes with a medium sized USB 3.0 connector, a hefty power supply and documents. It is way, way, way faster than 2.0 I can do a complete backup of 400GB to my portable HDD in 1/4 of the time. But, users, be wary to not overload the eletronics, they get really hot and fail under constant demand. Highly Reccomended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from small, does the job My macbook pro only has two USB ports, and the thunderbolt display is all USB 2.0 so when I hooked up my external HD I had to hook it up each time and then unhook it to plug in the printer or memory card reader. Now I just plug them into this one and then one plug into the computer. USB 3 is so much faster and cheaper than a thunderbolt connection. That leaves my other port open for connecting other devices and they all run fast. The reason I didn't give it five stars is because I'm tired of these fat plugs. I know it is cheaper to put the transformer at the plug but then it takes up multiple plug spots. Wish it was inline or at the USB device itself. Oh well, I guess I'm just being picky.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works like a charm Used to connect my printer and card readers and its great that its backward compatible (USB 1, USB 2)! A neat package and well designed although it is powered (comes with adaptor). No faults found!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOOKS GOOD WORKS GOOD ! Does not slow down USB 3 connection. Not too big but easy to use. Nice red led light glows through clear plastic case. One USB port on the end is convenient.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective out of the box, DOA. Defective out of the box. Using 3 USB hard drives with the hub powered it would only show one drive, the first one plugged in. All three drives and their cables work fine when plugged directly into the computer or individually into the hub, but if anymore than 1 drive is plugged in at a time only the first is shown.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for external HDDs Tried to run a WD My Passport for Mac 2.0TB and a WD My Passport for Mac 4.0TB HDD, both plugged into this IOGear hub with power from the included 4.0A power cube. Neither HDD worked, were not recognized by the MacBook Pro laptop. Changed to a J5create JUH340 USB 3.0 4-Port HUB with its 3.0A power cube and both drives immediately came on line, fast data transfer. Will not use IOGear from now on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as it should It operates as it claims. Drives that use USB 3.0 and earlier connect and work just fine. One thing to mention is that is performs great when only supplied by power from the computer's USB bus. When using the supplied 5v wall adapter, it performed inconsistently. Perhaps there is an issue with my particular power supply. It is working fine without, so I am content.
