The beauty dish reflector is a legendary light shaping tool popularized by fashion and portrait photographers. This Impact 22" Beauty Dish Reflector lives up to its potential by offering a bridge between softboxes and umbrellas that yields a soft but crisp light with snappy contrast and a textural quality that flatters makeup on models and accentuates character in portrait subjects. The secret is a built-in deflector that bounces the flash's direct output backwards, filling the shallow dish and casting a wide beam of soft light forward. The Beauty Dish fits most major brands with the separate purchase of an adapter.

Which adapter for Godox V-1 Speedlight ?
Which adapter for Godox V-1 Speedlight ?
Unfortunately, there are no adapters allowing this beauty dish to fit the Godox V1. A better option is the Westcott Switch Beauty Dish (24"), BH # WE2520 along with the Westcott Rapid Box Switch / Beauty Dish Switch Insert for Profoto A1 Flash. BH # WE2540.

Hi, I have an interfit s1-N, and can I assume that the B&H# IMBDAIMP is the correct adapter ring? Also how do I gauge what size beauty dish reflector I would prefer? For instance, 16 inch would be for head shot portraits; where would the other sizes come into play? Thankyou for your help. Paul.
Interfit S1 is Bowens mount you will need Impact Beauty Dish Adapter for Impact Monolights, Bowens, Travelite, Cowboy, Interfit Stellar, JTL, Photoflex, Rime Lite, Westcott Flash Heads
B&H # IMBDAIMP
and 22" is a usual size for Beauty Dish

question
Will this fit on uni400 JR?
No, the Impact 22 Beauty Dish Reflector is not compatible for use with the Dynalite Uni400JRg Monolight. If you are looking for a similar option that would be compatible, I would recommend either the Dynalite SR-DE Soft Lite White Beauty Dish Reflector - 22 (55.8cm), B&H # DYSRDE, or the Dynalite SR-80 Soft Lite White Beauty Dish Reflector - 18 (45.7cm), B&H # DYSR80, for your usage needs.

question
Can use this with DynaLites?
I use this dish with a DynaLite Jack Rabbit head (basically a dome head). It works, but the universal adapter ring barely works (too tight) and I always have to put gaff tape around where the ring attaches to the head to prevent it from falling off.

In the specs say it’s adapter is compatible with Profoto D2 but not Profoto D2. Does anyone know if this is true? Why would it not be compatible with D2?
I just received it and these seems true. I compared it to a Profoto brand speed ring and the rubber ring on the Impact brand seems to be much tighter and is harder to remove. Seems like this would be an issue on any Profoto light. I’m still debating on whether or not I’m going to return it.

question
Can i fit a Bowens speed ring to this Beauty dish?
A standard Bowens speed ring will not fit onto the Impact 22 Beauty Dish Reflector. You would need Beauty Dish Adapter specifically designed for Impact beauty dishes for use on Bowens monolights. THis would be the Impact Beauty Dish Adapter for Impact Monolights, Bowens, Travelite, Cowboy, Interfit Stellar, JTL, Photoflex, Rime Lite, Westcott Flash Heads, B&H # IMBDAIMP, which would be the correct item for your needs.

Do these really work well with speedlights? ...
Do these really work well with speedlights? Wouldn't the light just get reflected out the back, unlike with a bare bulb monolight that directs light to the main part of the dish?
Yes, the Impact 20" Beauty Dish Kit for Speedlights and VC/VS-VSD Monolights, B&H # IMBD20BDK, works well for speedlight flashes. Some light may be reflected out of the back of the beauty dish, but that does not affect the quality of light that is coming out of the front of the beauty dish. (For the record, if a bare bulb flash were used with the above beauty dish and the sides were not blocked, it too would also lose some light out the back of the unit).
If you feel this will be an issue for your images, you are welcome to devise a setup or contraption that will block light from exiting the back of the beauty dish by blocking or filling the space between the sides of the flash and the rear opening of the beauty dish. The whole point of the deflector plate in the center of a beauty dish is to bounce forward-facing light back into the beauty dish to fill up the beauty dish. If your flash has a zoom head, you could also simply set the flash zoom head to the wide angle setting, and/or purchase a Stofen-type Omni-Bounce cover to place on the front of your flash, which would extend the front of your flash and make it work similarly to a bare-bulb flash, scattering light in 180 degrees from the front of the flash head.
