The large CamStrap from Camdapter is designed for your small point and shoot camera. When it comes to kids using cameras, you never know what will happen. They get dropped or worse, lost. With this strap and adapter combination you'll never have to worry about replacing your gear again.

The aluminum adapter secures to the bottom of your camera using the 1/4-20 tripod thread using the included Allen wrench. The leather strap, bolstered by nylon, threads through both the adapter and camera lugs providing a double level of security. Once adjusted to fit your hand, it wraps around your wrist in a secure fashion. Neither the adapter nor the strap will interfere with either accessing the battery door or any of the camera's controls. As an added benefit, you'll still have room to use the original camera's neck strap for even more peace of mind.

CamStrap is made from quality leather and is perfect for point and shoot cameras
CamStrap includes a machined aluminum adapter that won't block your camera battery door and will also allow the attachment of a neck strap
Wraps around your hand and still permits full access to camera controls
Available in two sizes (large/small)

CamStrap (Large) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well with Fuji X-E1 I tried three different hand straps with my X-E1 and this one is the only one which provides the security and firm bracing without interfering with anything (including the battery/card compartment) and allowing easy access to all controls. It is relatively unobtrusive and compact (no big pads that do not fit the hand well or interfere with operation) and it is leather so it is comfortable and cool to use. It is quite simple in design and may seem overpriced but it is actually well worth the price because it works. However, there is no provision for mounting on a tripod with the hand strap on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Strap makes GX-1 easier to handle The strap is especially nice when using a GX1 along with a super-zoom lens or an external flash. I am much less likely to accidently press a button. Also, the camera feels more secure in my hand while using the strap. I have a neck strap that allows the camera to slide into shooting position. It works well to attach the neck strap to the left side of the camera and the camdapter strap to the right side. It is not great that an allen wrench is required to remove the tripod socket connection. The wrench is supplied with the strap, but it is just another thing to carry and possibly lose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hand strap for still photography This is a great hand strap for small to medium sized cameras. I bought my first one about 4 years ago. I now have three, currently used on my Panasonic GH3, GM5, and GX8. With the tiny GM5 in particular, it makes the camera comfortable for long periods of carrying and shooting. At the top the Camstrap mounts on the camera's strap loop, while at the bottom it has a small plate that mounts into the tripod screw hole using a hex screw (hex key provided). The plate allows easy access to the battery and card compartments. I mount mine on the shutter button (right) side of the camera, but it can be mounted on either side. The Camstrap has a huge advantage over other hand straps I have tried. It provides a strong but light leather and webbing loop all the way AROUND your hand. Most straps are designed for supporting video cameras, with your hand held square to your wrist. Therefore they only provide a single padded 'band' that goes behind your hand. The Camstrap design makes for a much more comfortable experience with 'SLR' and 'rangefinder' form factor cameras, where some wrist flex is normal. It is also a much more secure design than most other hand straps. With most hand straps, if one end detaches the camera will fall unless you are gripping the actual body securely. With the Camstrap design it is almost impossible to accidentally drop the camera. It will hold up the camera should the camera strap loop fall off (a known problem on some camera models) or the tripod screw-hole mounted plate loosen off. This has never happened to me, but could if you were swapping accessories and forgot to tighten the screw. Another benefit to the Camstrap, compared to most hand straps, is size. It is far more compact than most hand straps, as it lacks the big padded 'back of hand' piece. This makes it easier to store and carry the camera, especially in a pocket. For travel or street photography, it makes the camera much less conspicuous than with a large hand strap. My only complaint with the Camstrap is that you cannot have both the Camstrap regular bottom plate and a tripod quick release on the camera at the same time. I have gotten around this problem by swapping the Camstrap plate for a Joby Ultraplate. This has a loop for the hand strap, as well as being an Arca-Swiss quick release plate. The Ultraplate screws to the camera with a hex screw in a long slot, and in addition has two tripod screw holes in it. It is long enough to allow me to have a Black Rapid neck strap in one hole while the plate mounts securely into the Arca-Swiss tripod head. One word of advice: the Camstrap comes in two sizes. If the measurement around your palm is less than 8 1/4 inches, order a small. If 8 1/4 inches or larger, order a large.
